DAM OWNER RESPONSIBILITIES
|
|
Assist Dam owner in selection of herdsire.
|
Provide all previous breeding and birthing records prior to signing breeding agreement.
|
|
Provide proof of stud being negative for PCR & BVDV and health records. Provide copy of stud ARI certificate.
|
Provide copy of ARI Certificate for dam.
|
|
Provide clean safe bio secure area for breeding.
|
Fax or email copy of transportation papers and proof of insurance on dam and cria (see Breeding contract).

|
Tease dam upon arrival
Weigh Dam and cria
|
Provide health records
a) deworming
b) vaccinations
c) negative for PCR & BVDV for dam and cria at side
d) negative fecal for coccidian & other parasites
|
|
Clean perineal area with betadine, wrap tail of dam before breeding, check for hymen on maidens.
|
Provide copy of Vet pre-breeding examination for proof of non infection and other issues that may inhibit conception.
|
|
Observe, manage, time and record particulars of breeding activities and ambient temperature.
|
Prior arrival tease dam to determine if she is receptive.
|
|
Email dam owner each week after testing for pregnancy. Only 3 breedings will be performed. If pregnancy does not occur and dam is still receptive, dam owner will be notified and veterinary intervention will occur. All results will be reported as soon as they are known.

Provide weight of dame and cria at side at delivery.
|
|
Ultra sound at 45 days arrange for transportation and medical records upon positive ultra sound.
|
Transport dam to HHSF for breeding.
|
|
Provide copy of ultra sound.
|
Ultra sound at 90 days & provide copy of results.
|
|
Body score & weigh dam & cria upon arrival.
Body score & weigh dam & cria when leaving.
|
Continue teasing every 14 days until Ultra Sound is provided.
